“Fitting professionals for the 21st century Justice: How to answer training needs of justice practitioners” to be held on 18-19 June 2018 in Brussels. This conference will close the open public consultation which we have launched in February 2018 on the future strategy for European Judicial Training and discuss the lessons learnt since the 2011 Commission Communication ‘Building trust in EU-wide Justice — A new dimension to European judicial training’.
With this two-day conference we aim at gathering the views of the main stakeholders involved in training justice practitioners, including judges, prosecutors, lawyers, notaries, court staff, bailiffs and prison and probation staff, and enabling direct discussions on the results of the written public consultation. We hope the conference will help us identify issues and solutions that can feed the future strategy on European Judicial Training, which should be published in October this year.
The conference is primarily addressed to those who are in charge of training activities for justice practitioners in the EU Member States, but also in the Western Balkans. EU level organisations and networks representing the professionals concerned are also invited to join this event.
The European Commission will provide travel and accommodation to one representative per training provider, per judicial profession and Member State and per EU level professional organisations and networks. If more representatives register (which they are welcome to do), the European Commission will only provide transport and accommodation to the first person registered per category.
Organisations interested in participating are kindly requested to save the date and to send an e-mail to JUST-JUDICIAL-TRAINING@ec.europa.eu in order to receive a formal invitation.
